Why TEREA Only Works in IQOS ILUMA
TEREA sticks are specifically engineered for the IQOS ILUMA’s SmartCore Induction System™. Unlike older IQOS devices that use a heating blade that inserts into the stick, the ILUMA heats TEREA sticks from the inside using induction — the heating element is built inside the TEREA stick itself.
This means:
- TEREA sticks have no opening at the bottom for a blade to enter
- There is no external heating element in TEREA — it’s all internal
- Without the ILUMA’s induction field, the TEREA stick simply cannot be heated
What Happens If You Try to Use TEREA in an Old IQOS?
If you attempt to insert a TEREA stick into an older IQOS device (IQOS 3, 3 Duo, 3 Multi, or 2.4 Plus):
- The stick won’t fit properly — TEREA sticks are designed without the opening for a blade, so they won’t seat correctly in older holders
- No heating will occur — even if partially inserted, the blade cannot heat the TEREA stick as it’s designed to be heated internally
- Potential device damage — forcing a TEREA stick into an older device could damage the heating blade
